And, yes, sand storms DO hurt, and you have to turn away from the wind and keep your eyes and mouth closed. Sand gets everywhere – I mean everywhere – and they totally ruin an otherwise good place!

What a wonderful way to spend a day…looking for turtle nests. I’m happy that more people are realizing how important it is to protect these and other species. Did the sand whipping around hurt you at all? Can’t imagine being caught in a sandstorm.
