After their three week adventure traveling in Morocco in a rented camper van, I interviewed my parents about their experience. What came was a discussion of the challenges they faced, the advantages and differences as compared to other modes of travel, things they learned from Bruno and I, and tips for people considering traveling this way. Kasbahs, palmeraies, gorges, and desert dunes – my parents saw it all when they embarked with Bruno and I on a camper van adventure in Morocco! This entry is long and picture-heavy, so sit back, relax, and join us as we navigate high-pressure sales, ksars frozen in time, bad roads, crazy drivers, mountain passes, hairpin bends, camel rides, and a rental camper van!  For two weeks, fourteen members of my family and Bruno’s gathered in Taroudant, Morocco, for a family reunion. Between the delicious meals, the mix of fun and sun at the villa, and our Moroccan adventures (and misadventures), it’s safe to say our family reunion in Taroudant was an unforgettable trip.  My parents are in Morocco for Christmas, and we’ve been having a great time in Marrakech. In this second part of my story, though, things go a bit downhill. A tout in the tanneries finally makes me snap. Thankfully, however, an invite to couscous by a friendly local redeems the city in my eyes, and we head to the coastal city of Agadir for our Christmas celebration feeling positive. |
