    • Brittany - I know, it’s sooooo sad and difficult to think about selling our beloved Totoyaya. We would have happily continued another 10 years and done another trip around the world with her, but it’s time to get something just a bit bigger for our big plans! 🙂ReplyCancel

After their three week adventure traveling in Morocco in a rented camper van, I interviewed my parents about their experience. What came was a discussion of the challenges they faced, the advantages and differences as compared to other modes of travel, things they learned from Bruno and I, and tips for people considering traveling this way. Will my parents ever travel by camper van again? Read on to learn their concluding thoughts!

Kasbahs, palmeraies, gorges, and desert dunes – my parents saw it all when they embarked with Bruno and I on a camper van adventure in Morocco! This entry is long and picture-heavy, so sit back, relax, and join us as we navigate high-pressure sales, ksars frozen in time, bad roads, crazy drivers, mountain passes, hairpin bends, camel rides, and a rental camper van!

  • Allison - What an amazing and inspiring journey, and what a beautiful experience to have with your parents! My my parents currently travel around the U.S. in their RV- I’m definitely going to send this to them and inspire them to do a similar journey in another country. Morocco is such an incredible country, your photos take me back! I can’t wait to return.ReplyCancel

  • Elizabeth - Brittany, along with your choice of photos your descriptions of our camper adventure with you and Bruno illustrates the essence of our experiences on and off the road. We are so fortunate to have had such an amazing trip with our daughter and son-law as our knowledgeable guides and are incredibly grateful to you both.ReplyCancel

    • Brittany - I’m so grateful that you took a leap of faith and came along for the ride. So many wonderful memories that we’ll laugh about next time we meet and cherish for a lifetime. xoxReplyCancel

  • Lisa Sharples - Wow….just wow….what an adventure. Wonderful pictures Brittany. Your descriptions of the people & places are so vivid that I can almost imagine myself there with you. These are such amazing experiences that you are having that too few of us ever get to share.
I’m ready to join you on your next adventure…lol Of course we would have our own RV but you seem to do the research to the point where you could be the tour guide.
Stay safe & keep enjoying your amazing life as a true adventurer. Too many of us have grown roots and can’t imagine living away from the daily grind. Love to all of you xoxoReplyCancel

    • Brittany - You don’t even know how much I would LOVE to meet up with you and David on the road! OK, if you two buy an RV, I promise to plan a really cool trip for us. Deal?ReplyCancel

For two weeks, fourteen members of my family and Bruno’s gathered in Taroudant, Morocco, for a family reunion. Between the delicious meals, the mix of fun and sun at the villa, and our Moroccan adventures (and misadventures), it’s safe to say our family reunion in Taroudant was an unforgettable trip.

  • Louise Jones-Takata - Really enjoyed this blog. Photos gorgeous. Interestingly enough, I have been using Argon Oil for my hair for the past five years. The nut when opened reveals a delicious meat and I am told is considered a delicacy.ReplyCancel

    • Brittany - What a coincidence that you’re a long-time user of argan oil! I expect you already knew that where it came from and how it was processed, then? Have you ever tasted it in food? I’ve been using it for salad dressings and may even start drizzling it on top of stir fried veggies. It’s got a delicious nutty flavor! Yum!

  • Rcs - Aah yes Taroudannt…it will always be a wonderful memory regardless of the illnesses. I, too, am happy to have had the staff and truly they were great cooks who gave us an excellent array of Moroccan cuisine. And a big TY to you Brit and Bruno for a wonderful Christmas experience.ReplyCancel

    • Brittany - You’re very welcome, dad. Everyone loved having you around, especially for your game-playing! It was a blast!ReplyCancel

  • Elizabeth - What a wonderful account of our time together in Taroudant. Makes me wish we could turn back the clock and start over, minus the illnesses. I could so eat more of Hafida’s mouth-watering cooking right now. I am very grateful to you and Bruno for all the hard work you put into organizing this gathering , for tending to myriad daily details, and for wanting your Dad and myself to be a part of it all.ReplyCancel

    • Brittany - You’re very welcome, and thank you so, so much for coming! It’s my dream to fuse my own family with Bruno’s, so it really warmed my heart to have all of us there together.ReplyCancel

My parents are in Morocco for Christmas, and we’ve been having a great time in Marrakech. In this second part of my story, though, things go a bit downhill. A tout in the tanneries finally makes me snap. Thankfully, however, an invite to couscous by a friendly local redeems the city in my eyes, and we head to the coastal city of Agadir for our Christmas celebration feeling positive.
