Welcome to Wandering Footsteps, the travel journal of a nomadic family on an overland trip around the world. With thirty years of travel experience, a round-the-world trip already under our belt, a newly-converted bus, and a new baby in tow, this journey is bound to be interesting! Join us in our global wanderings - we've saved an extra seat just for you!
We’ve left Uganda. Our goal is the Kenya coast. But that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun along the way. As we drive to Nairobi, we get back into the rhythm of life on the road. It’s good to be nomadic again!
Work is over, Kampala is behind us. Before we make a be-line to the Kenyan coast, we decide to explore a bit of Uganda. Here we make stops to the source of the Nile River and Uganda’s Sipi Falls. One impressed while the other had us packing up the next morning. Read on to find out which is which!
After five stressful months of teaching in Kampala, the school year is finished. Soon, we’re hitting the road and leaving Kampala behind for good. Will I miss Kampala, and the life that could have been here? Or will I be too excited and enticed by the road ahead? The only way to find out for sure is to keep reading my blog.

After working almost incessantly since I arrived in Kampala, I FINALLY have an adventure to report – a road trip with Bruno! We spend a week getting to know a bit of Uganda’s Ssesse Islands, Entebbe town, and Mpanga Forest Reserve.
I’m living, eating, breathing school. I wake up at 6:00am thinking about school. I get ready for school. I go to school. I come home at 6:00pm and prepare for the next day of school. I go to bed thinking about school, and at night I dream about school. Then I wake up at 6:00am and do it all again.
