Tag Archives: Expat files – Every year, we leave bus life and head to our home-away-from-home in France. I’ve shared our French life on the blog before but never before as a VLOG. This vlog gives a tour of our house and neighborhood and insight into our life when we here. Best of all, though, there is some very special footage of a very special toddler milestone at the end!!  You can’t consider yourself a world traveler until you’ve experienced a Canadian winter. This was the challenge posed to Bruno by a friendly neighbor. It’s mid-March – according to the calendar, winter is almost over. Have we survived? What has winter been like? Can we now consider ourselves true world travelers?  The maternity photos are taken, the meals are prepped, the bus is ready(ish). Baby’s belongings have been purchased, we’ve learned and researched as much post-partum info as possible, and we’re settled into nesting mode. I’d say we’re about ready for baby to arrive! Now we just have to wait and wonder when that day will be! (Due date is today, but this post was written three weeks earlier…!)  We’re waiting for a baby, so are “house-bound” again, this time in Bayfield, Nova Scotia, Canada. Between the great relationship we have with our midwives, the yoga studio down the road, and the absolute comfort of our rental house, it seems we made the right call in settling ourselves in Nova Scotia for the winter. Now all we need to do is wait for baby to arrive!  There may be advantages to living in one place for an extended period of time, but there are also challenges. After living in a house in France for nine weeks, the novelty of living a normal life in a normal house was wearing off and I was able to analyze the non-nomadic lifestyle without my rose-tinted glasses on. |
