Tag Archives: Overlanding – Have you ever felt out of place in society? Or had a big, scary dream that you keep trying to push away? Have you ever had an inner voice that spoke to you for so long and so loudly that you simply couldn’t ignore it any more? If so, then this story – of a brand new overlanding family, and also my cousin – is for you!  Last month we crossed the border from Texas to Mexico. And we weren’t alone – my parents, in their own RV, were right behind us! This latest vlog charts our border crossing – the preparations and procedures, of course, but also our experiences leading up to and crossing the border.  In case anyone was wondering why Bruno and I raced across Canada this summer, wonder no more – it was to join our families on a road trip to Nova Scotia! Several months later, I reminisce about the amazing memories our three RVs created as we left our tracks across one my country’s loveliest provinces.  Bruno and I are not the only ones who live their lives on the road: introducing a couple of young Greek overlanders we met three years ago at a little campsite in Kenya, and who have continued their travels in two vehicles, 40+ countries and 100,000km! They’ve just written an e-book about their lifestyle, with tons of practical info on how you, too, can live the traveling life of your dreams!  Dear Totoyaya, this morning, you left us. We sold you, our beloved home-on-wheels of nineteen years. The vehicle that had transported Bruno for 400,000km around the world, had brought him to me, and had taken me along for the ride these past almost-five years – you were gone. This letter of thanks and love is for you. |
